Come discuss the future of John St. North!

The North End Neighbours and The Beasley Neighbourhood Association invite you to an informal joint-meeting regarding the future of John Street North. A number of residents from both neighbourhoods have voiced concern about the implications of the coming development on the waterfront, LRT coming to James St., and the replacement of the railway bridge on traffic on John St. North. Our Associations want to know, "What are your concerns?" and "What questions should we be asking?" when the City and CN eventually approach us for input.

Be a part of the conversation.

Free Adobe Indesign workshop

The North End Breezes is hosting a free Adobe InDesign class, on Tuesdays Jan 19th and 26th. 5-8 pm

InDesign is the most popular software in the world for newspapers, magazines, advertising and commercial printing. The Breezes are hoping someone who takes the class might be interested in donating time to produce layout for the North End Breezes (a few hours per month).

Presented by Richard Brooks, a career graphic industry professional and former Eastman Kodak field applications specialist, who has used the Adobe product suite since before version 1.0.  InDesign is just one of several software programs in the Adobe Creative Suite.

At the end of this course, you will have been introduced to a lot of the features of the program, and  how to use some of them.  You will see how they are used by graphics professionals around the world to create many of the world's newspapers, and much of the artwork used by commercial printers.  As this is an introductory course, hopefully this will whet your appetite to learn more, and you will leave with a learning track to run on.
